<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for managing content while saving electric power so as to minimize required power consumption when downloading content files distributed and managed on a network. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A network is composed of: network communication units 11, 12 each communicating with other network terminals; a content management list storage unit 14 storing content management lists having information about contents stored in its own terminals and information about power consumption required to provide the information about the contents and content management lists of peripheral network terminals; a network control unit 13 estimating the band of the network, transmitting and receiving information managed by the storage unit 14, and switching networks; and a power consumption management unit 15 calculating the power consumption.
