<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organic EL device capable of forming a light-emitting functional layer by a liquid-drop discharge method without preventing normal formation of a cathode or normal formation of a sealing structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The organic EL device includes a substrate 10, an organic EL element 12 arranged on one surface of the substrate 10, and a bank 30 formed to surround the periphery of the organic EL element 12.
