<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device and method for a signature panel for inspecting a position and size of a signature panel and a chipped edge part and a pin hole in the signature panel properly and preventing its erroneous detection. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This inspection device and method for a signature panel to inspect the presence or absence of defective printing on the signature panel stuck to a card is composed of an image inputting part for inputting image signals sequentially by a camera by illuminating a surface of the card having the signature panel having a regular repetitive pattern while moving, an image signal processing part for comparing the image signals input from the image inputting part by using a reference signal and a threshold value to determine whether the image signal is good or not, and a monitor for displaying the contents of the processings. The image signal processing part compares the image signals input from the image signal processing part by using the reference signal obtained by binarizing and inverting the image signal and the threshold value.
