<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device for efficiently inspecting a glass pipe in manufacture of a lamp, and a lamp manufacturing apparatus equipped with it. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lamp manufacturing apparatus for manufacturing a cold cathode fluorescent lamp 1 includes the inspection device 41 for inspecting the coating film part 33 and coating film peeling part 32 of the glass pipe 11 composed of the coating film part 33 containing the central part in the longitudinal direction of the glass pipe 11 and having a phosphor layer formed thereto by applying a coating solution, the coating film pealing part 32 containing one end part of the glass pipe and formed by removing the once formed phosphor layer and an uncoated part 31 containing another end part of the glass pipe and not coated with the coating solution. The inspection device 41 includes irradiation means 44 and 45 for irradiating the glass pipe with light, the imaging means 46 and 47 provided on the side opposite to the irradiation means 44 and 45 through the glass pipe 11 and for imaging the transmitted light transmitted through the glass pipe 11, and a guide rail 55 and a pressing plate 61 both of which hold the uncoated part 31 in imaging by the imaging means 46 and 47.
