<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensing system in which a sensor is installed at any place apart from an optical fiber and many additional sensors are mounted over a wide range of area. <P>SOLUTION: A monitoring apparatus 12 includes a laser light source 121 which drives a plurality of radio-light conversion nodes and emits steady light in the radio-light conversion node 13 (n), and a light signal receiver 122 which receives the returned light signal. A plurality of sensor nodes 14 (m) respectively include a plurality of sensor interfaces 142 and a radio transmission circuit 141 which transmits detection data from a sensor Sk by radio to the corresponding radio-light conversion node, the sensor being connected to the sensor interface. The plurality of radio-light conversion nodes 13 (n) respectively include a photoelectronic transducer 131 which converts a part of steady light to power, a wireless receiver circuit 132 which receives the detection data from the sensor by radio, and a light modulator 133 which modulates other part of the steady light to generate a signal light in which the detection data is embedded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
