PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein a conventional navigation system is not user-friendly for a user considering that it is important to firstly arrive at a preset via-point (for example, user using a rent-a-car) because the route guide for the via-point and the time management of the whole process of arriving at a destination are not performed simultaneously. SOLUTION: A return place of the rent-a-car is set as the destination. A return deadline of the rent-a-car is written in a RAM 13. A desired destination is registered as the via-point. When a recommendation route is determined by route search, a control circuit 11 calculates the arrival predicted time of arriving at the destination. The control circuit 11 compares the return deadline with the arrival predicted time, and, when it is determined there is still time to the return deadline, recognizes the already registered via-point as a virtual destination and starts the route guide.
