The invention refers to a protection method of the sealing flange that is found in the connection of the cylinder head with the block of cylinders of a piston bearing reciprocating ICE and preferably an ICE the combustion chamber of which is strained with high thermal loads. In addition, the section of the barrier (5), in combination with the respective formation of the corona of the piston (1) provides the potential of significant increase in the scavenging zones (7) compared to the common applications of the technical level.
