PURPOSE: A method for producing a catalyst to manufacture unsaturated aldehyde and/or unsaturated carboxylic acid and a method for producing unsaturated aldehyde and/or unsaturated carboxylic acid are provided to produce the unsaturated aldehyde and/or unsaturated carboxylic acid by oxidizing compounds to molecular oxygen stably in vapor. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst for producing unsaturated aldehyde and/or unsaturated carboxylic acid includes mixed oxide including molybdenum, bismuth and iron. The catalyst is formed by acquiring calcined materials in oxygen-containing gas after drying liquid or aqueous slurry containing raw materials of the catalyst. The acquired calcined materials are calcined in the oxygen-containing gas.
