PURPOSE: An interworking device between two different networks is provided to mutually convert protocols between two incommunicable networks, and to interwork between the two networks by using agreed CODEC information, thereby interworking the two networks without configuring another network. CONSTITUTION: An IHP(IWF(Interworking Function) H.323 Process) block(21) transmits a message transmitted from a gatekeeper to an ITP(IWP Tunneling Process) block(22), and receives a protocol-converted message from the ITP block(22) to transmit the message to the gatekeeper. An ISP(IWF SIP Process) block(23) transmits a message received from a proxy to the ITP block(22), and receives the protocol-converted message to transmit the message to the proxy. The ITP block(22) converts an H.323 protocol into an SIP to transmit the SIP to the ISP block(23), and transmits the protocol-converted message to the IHP block(21). An IMP(IWP Management Process) block(24) monitors states of the blocks(21,22,23), and maintains a smooth call setup.
