<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system allowing an operator to connect two or more systems in different systems and utilize the connected systems as one system because, in the case of a system where a plurality of monitoring systems are operated in one formation of vehicles connected to one another, the situation of one-side system cannot be determined from the other-side system when a failure occurs, whereby a situation where the failure cannot be noticed may occur in the worst case. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This in-train monitoring system is structured such that, when a plurality of vehicle systems equipped with monitoring systems in different systems are connected to one another, management servers execute communication with one another; one of them is defined as a main management server; failure information is transmitted from the other servers to the main server; and thereby two or more systems are operated as a single system even when trains or vehicles in different systems are connected to one another.
