PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic optical element which is excellent in transparency and maintains its characteristics in a production process including heat treatment and in various use environments, and to provide a method for manufacturing electronic equipment which executes reflow processing using the plastic optical element. SOLUTION: The plastic optical element contains a resin composition having alicyclic hydrocarbon structure and a water-absorption rate of 0.5 mass% or less and has a water-absorption rate of 1.0-2.0 mass% and a size-variation rate of 0.1-0.5% due to water absorption.
