<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crucible lift device easily taking a quartz glass crucible or the like out of a mold; and to provide a method for taking-out a crucible or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The crucible lift device 10 is disposed on an upper side of a mold 30 in which a crucible 20 is arranged. A lid member 5 is descended toward an opening part of the crucible 20 and brought into close contact with the opening part of the crucible 20 through a buffer material to closely seal the internal space 21 of the crucible 20. After that, when the internal space 21 is depressurized through a suction duct, the lid member 5 is sucked on the opening part so as to be unified with the crucible 20. After depressurizing, a shaft 3 is rotated by a lifting and lowering motor 7 and the crucible is lifted integrally with the lid member 5. At this time, it is preferable that compressed air is introduced between the inner surface of the mold 30 and the crucible 20 through a vent hole 31 of the mold 30 so as to easily separate the crucible 20 from the mold 30.
