The inventive plate heat exchanger comprises a plate pack, wherein each plate is provided with at least one projection which is made thereon in the form of a truncated cone and the projection of the adjacent plates are inserted into each other and are attached in such a way that a channel for a heat carrier is formed. The tilt angle of the generator of each truncated cone to the axis thereof is selected from the relationship tga=S/A, wherein S is the thickness of the wall of the respective plate and A is a distance between the similar surfaces of the adjacent plates. Said relationship makes it possible to design a heat carrier channel the wall thickness of which along the entire length of the channel is equal to at least the double thickness of the projection walls. Furthermore, each projection has a height which makes it possible to provide the heat carrier channel with sections formed by the walls of the three interpenetrating projections. The plates with projections have a substantially equal thickness and are made of steel, the entire surface of which is copper-coated in such a way that copper is diffused in part into steel.
