<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclone converter generator generating the DC power of an aimed voltage in addition to the generation of an AC power, while allowing a user to easily select outputs from the AC power and the DC power. <P>SOLUTION: The cyclone converter generator 10 has an AC power generating means (a positive-negative converter changeover control section 26a and a voltage effective-value control section 26b), generating a single-phase AC powers by igniting thyristors mutually bridge-connected in antiparallel with a three-phase output winding 16, in a variable ignition width at each half period of the frequency of the aimed AC power on the basis of the phase signal of an output from a generating section. The cyclone converter type generator 10 has a DC power generating means (the positive-negative converter changeover control section 26a and the voltage effective-value control section 26b), generating a DC power at the aimed voltage by igniting the thyristors in a fixed ignition width, set in response to the aimed DC voltages on the basis of the phase signal.
