<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a finger vein authentication apparatus that is small and has a high authentication accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The finger vein authentication apparatus in a first embodiment includes a light source, an imaging element, and a casing covering the light source and the imaging element. A finger is put on an imaging window formed in a portion of the casing and a vein pattern within the finger illuminated with light from the light source is imaged. The apparatus has a projection formed on the outer periphery of the imaging window in such a way as to make contact with the side of the finger from the first joint to the second joint when the finger is placed on the imaging window. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
