<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely remove residual fiber sticking to a shock absorbing member, just after completing an exhaust gas processing device. <P>SOLUTION: One opening part of a metallic outer cylinder is supported in a blocked-up state to the exhaust gas processing device (a catalytic converter 10) for holding an exhaust gas processing member inside the metallic outer cylinder via a fibrous shock absorbing member, and gas is introduced from the other opening part (by a suction-exhaust device 20), and the gas impact-contacted with at least the fibrous shock absorbing member is sucked and exhausted from the other opening part.
