PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferroelectric liquid crystal composition and a display element using it causing no sticking and exhibiting desirable switching behavior with suppressed inversion anomaly. SOLUTION: The ferroelectric liquid crystal composition contains at least one kind of ionic substance such as a cation belonging to the first or second group of the element periodic table, at least one kind of cationic inclusion compound such as podand, coronand and cryptand, and a mesomorphic mixture consisting of at least two kinds of mesomorphic compounds.
