<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of bonding different kinds of metal, a method capable of strongly bonding even in the combination of magnesium alloy and steel in which Fe-Mg binary phase diagram shows separation of the two phases and in which direct bonding is metallurgically difficult. <P>SOLUTION: A magnesium alloy material is bonded to a steel material. The steel material to be used is a galvanized steel plate 2, which has a deposit of zinc (metal M); and the magnesium alloy material to be used is an Al contained magnesium alloy material 1. In bonding the two materials, an Mg-Zn eutectic melt is generated to discharge an oxide coating film 1f, impurities, etc., from the bonding interface. Simultaneously therewith, Al-Mg-based and Fe-Al-based intermetallic compounds are generated. Thus, newly formed surfaces of the two materials 1, 2 are bonded to each other through a compound layer 3 containing a composite structure in which Al<SB>3</SB>Mg<SB>2</SB>and FeAl<SB>3</SB>are mixed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
