PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device for an elevator capable of retrieving by using the behavior of a person as a key. SOLUTION: The monitoring device for the elevator for accumulating images obtained by photographing a monitoring area and displaying an image of a required part is provided with an image accumulation means for adding time information to the images and accumulating them, an operation data accumulation means for adding time information to operation data of the elevator and accumulating them, a retrieval condition input means for inputting a retrieval condition about the behavior of the person, a retrieval condition conversion means for converting the input personal retrieval condition into a retrieval condition about the operation of the elevator, an operation data extraction means for extracting a time when the operation matching with the operation retrieval condition is conducted from the operation data accumulation means, an image extraction means for extracting an image of the extracted time and an image-operation data display means for displaying the extracted image with the operation data.
