<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce errors caused by the generation of carriers according to ambient light in a device for generating a bound exciton by applying monochromatic light to a neutral donor and detecting the carriers following the collapse of the bound exciton. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Monochromatic light is applied to the neutral donor to generate the bound exciton; a filter region made of a semiconductor crystal identical to a region, where a donor of which a nuclear spin is to be read is placed, is generated on the front of a region including a nuclear spin read device for detecting carriers following the collapse of the bound exciton; and the device region is separated from the filter region by an insulator layer.
