<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical centrifugal separator capable of preventing the clogging of the exhaust port of a rotary bowl by solid contents exhausted therefrom. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the vertical centrifugal separator 1, an exhaust port 62 exhausting solid contents is formed at the lower side face 60 of a rotary bowl 6. The lower side face 60 is surrounded by a cylindrical exhaust jacket 101. A scraping member 11 is arranged between the lower side face 60 and the inside face of the exhaust jacket 101. The scraping member 11 is connected to a driving motor 121 via a rotary ring 122, and goes around the circumference of the lower side face 60 upon the driving of the vertical centrifugal separator 1. Thus, even if solid contents exhausted from the exhaust port 62 are stuck to the inside face of the exhaust jacket 101, the stuck solid contents can be scraped off by the scraping member 11, and the clogging of the exhaust port 62 by the solid contents stuck to the inside face of the exhaust jacket 101 can be prevented.
