PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system of an atomic oscillator which reduces repair costs and improves reliability. SOLUTION: An optical system 1 includes: a coherent light source 2 which emits resonance light; a gas cell 4 which is disposed at an emission side of the coherent light source 2, seals in gas-state metal atoms and passes the resonance light through the metal atom gases; a photo-detector 5 for detecting light passed through the gas cell 4; light guide members 6, 7 13 each for guiding resonance light emitted from the coherent light source 2 to the gas cell 4 and guiding light passed through the gas cell 4 to the photo-detector 5; a frequency control circuit 12 which controls an oscillation frequency in accordance with a signal detected from the photo-detector 8; and a temperature control circuit 11 which controls temperatures of the coherent light source 2, the photo-detector 5 and the gas cell 4. The light guide member includes a plurality of substrates 7 and two plate-like prisms 13, 6.
