PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid pump capable of inhibiting the deterioration of a sealing function of a seal member. SOLUTION: Fluid flowing into a gap from a radial outside collides with an annular projecting piece 52, flows toward a bottom 56A of a clearance 56, and turns in a U-shape to flow toward a bottom flat plate 43. Fluid reaching the bottom flat plate 43 flows toward a radial inside and flows into a pump chamber 36 side through an opening 50 formed at an impeller 40. By this, the fluid is inhibited from staying near the seal member 42 by forming the opening 50 at the impeller 40 and making the fluid flow to the pump chamber 36 side. A deposit from the fluid is prevented from being bitten in the seal member 42 and cutting off a lip sliding part 42C of the seal member 42 by inhibiting the stay of the fluid. The deterioration of a sealing function of the seal member 42 can be inhibited by preventing the lip sliding part 42C from being cut off. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
