PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the preparation and storage of a dedicated scale and the work for putting a mark on a pipe, by giving a gaging function with the dedicated scale to an existing joint dust-proof cap. SOLUTION: The joint dust-proof cap 20 can be mounted on a joint having a guide cylinder part 8 to be inserted into the pipe when inserted through an opening 12 into an inserted-into chamber 9 while covering the opening 12 with a cover part 21. It can be held by inserting a gage part 26 extending from the cover part 21 toward a center line 2a of the opening 12, inside the guide cylinder part 8 of the joint. The entry of dust into the joint can be prevented by the cover part 21 of the joint dust-proof cap 20, as well as the insertion completed condition of the pipe can be checked via the gage part 26 (the dedicated scale) of the joint dust-proof cap 20, utilizing the mark on the pipe.
