PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tripod type constant velocity universal joint which restricts the axial position of a needle roller only by using the journal face of a leg shaft. SOLUTION: The tripod type constant velocity universal joint has a grooved portion 2 which stores the needle roller 6 in the outer peripheral face of the leg shaft 1, and is formed in the peripheral direction while serving as a rolling surface for the needle roller 6.
