The method involves providing one of the two wheels having axes of a driving train as freewheeling for a time interval for avoiding wheel spin (S1). The length of the distance covered by the train is noted in the time interval. The perimeter of the wheel of the freewheeling axis is determined in the time interval (S2). The determined perimeters are compared with earlier measurements of the wheels (S3), and the variations are detected. An independent claim is included for a device for dynamic analysis for detection of imbalance in wheels of wheel rail systems.
