PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutter grinding disk which can improve grinding work efficiency by shortening the time necessary for the detection of the position of the edge of the cutter. SOLUTION: The cutter grinding disk includes a finish grinding device 15 and a control disk 17 for controlling the finish grinding device 15. The cutter grinding disk is characterized in that the control disk 17 outputs an instruction that fast-feeds grinding stone units 11, 13 to a feed rate determined based on a proximity position predetermined relative to the edge of a cutter 1, and, when the grinding stone units 11, 13 have reached the proximity position, the control disk 17 outputs an instruction that rotates the grinding stone units 11, 13 at a low speed to switch the grinding stone units 11, 13 to a slow-speed feed mode, detects a change in rotation speed of the grinding stone units 11, 13 to detect abutting of the grinding stone units 11, 13 against the edge of the cutter, and determines the position of the edge of the cutter 1 based on the feed rate of the grinding stone units 11, 13 at that time.
