FIELD: electrical engineering; converters and acoustic apparatuses incorporating low-power transformers. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed low-power transformer has shell-type magnetic circuit assembled of similar rectangular-window ribbon cores coupled at intermediate leg. It carries impregnated insulated windings which are wound directly on intermediate leg and form monolithic structure upon impregnation together with shell-type magnetic circuit. Width-to-thickness ratio of intermediate leg a/b is kept within the range of 1 < b/a <= 4.
