<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the parallel degree of an application program according to data processed by the application program executed on a configuration-changeable processor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This design device 1 analyzes trace information obtained by simulating the application program by use of processing data, and obtains size of data stored in one or more registers used in the processor. When a first division number of a register determined by the size obtained by performing the analysis is larger than a second division number of a register determined by data size defined about the processing data in the application program, the design device 1 changes the definition of the data size in the application program into data size corresponding to the first division number, and rewrites the application program such that parallel processing according to the changed data size is possible.
