PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiulcer agent comprising composite hydrotalcite particles as active ingredients, provided that the composite hydrotalcite particles have at least one chosen from an amino acid, picolinic acid, acetic acid, citric acid, glyceric acid, NO<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>, CO<SB>3</SB><SP>2-</SP>and SO<SB>4</SB><SP>2-</SP>between layers of hydrotalcite particles having zinc (Zn) solid-dissolved therein, which are layered double hydroxides. SOLUTION: The composite hydrotalcite particles of formula (1): (Mg<SB>a</SB>Zn<SB>b</SB>)<SB>1-</SB>xAl<SB>x</SB>(OH)<SB>2</SB>(A<SP>n-</SP>)x/n-mH<SB>2</SB>O (wherein A<SP>n-</SP>is at least one chosen from an amino acid, picolinic acid, acetic acid, citric acid, glyceric acid, NO<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>, CO<SB>3</SB><SP>2-</SP>and SO<SB>4</SB><SP>2-</SP>; n is 1 or 2; and x, a, b and m are values satisfying the relations: 0.18≤x≤0.40, 0.5≤a<1, 0<b≤0.5, a+b=1 and 0≤m<1), which have a small amount of zinc (Zn) solid-dissolved in the hydrotalcite particles and have at least one chosen from an amino acid, picolinic acid, acetic acid, citric acid, glyceric acid, NO<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>, CO<SB>3</SB><SP>2-</SP>and SO<SB>4</SB><SP>2-</SP>between the layers, are used as active ingredients.
