<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device that improves transmission efficiency of information in a mobile communication system of OFDM. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The transmission device has: a means of performing data modulation and channel encoding for a data channel at a modulation multi-valued number and a channel encoding rate updated at transmission time intervals; a means of multiplexing a control channel and a data channel at the transmission time intervals; and a means of adjusting the length of the transmission time interval. An information transmission unit in a time direction and/or a frequency direction is made larger according to a communication state to decrease a frequency of insertion of the control channel, thereby improving data transmission efficiency.
