PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method for an upper metal-die in a metal-die casting device capable of consistently opening the upper metal-die. SOLUTION: In the operating method for the upper metal-die in the metal-die casting device for manufacturing a cast product by pouring molten metal in a holding furnace in a die having upper and lower dies via a stoke, the upper metal-die is attached/detached to/from the lower metal-die by a metal-die opening/closing mechanism with the upper metal-die mounted thereon, and a core is set between the upper and lower metal-dies and a space for taking out the product is formed by lifting the metal-die opening/closing mechanism and the upper metal-die. The metal-die opening/closing mechanism is fixed to a predetermined position, and then, the upper metal-die is detached from the lower metal-die. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
