An air compressor assembly (10) includes a base assembly (18) including at least one air container (52, 54) to store compressed air therein, a first rearward handle (84) and a second rearward handle (86) each being attached to a rearward end portion of the base assembly, a wheel (20) attached to a forward end portion (22) of the base assembly, a forward handle (56) attached to the forward end portion of the base assembly, an engine (42) supported by the base assembly, and a pump (40) powered by the engine and configured to generate compressed air which is advanced into the at least one air container. Each of said first and second rearward handles includes two handle portions defining a notch (32) therebetween, in which a friction enhancer (28) is located.
