<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which has high light emission efficiency and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device includes a board 2 having an electrode 3b formed on the surface thereof, a light emitting element 1 mounted on the surface of the board 2, a wire 4 for electrically connecting the light emitting element 1 with the electrode 3b, and a reflector 11b formed on the surface of the electrode 3b.
