<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently execute auxiliary measurements calculating a correction value for correcting an influence, on measurement data, of spatial nonuniformity of the sensitivity distribution of a surface coil. <P>SOLUTION: This magnetic resonance imaging apparatus executes a first correction measurement using a whole body coil and a second auxiliary measurement using the surface coil according to sequences indicating different time changes in magnetic fields applying to an examination object region respectively, as the auxiliary measurements for calculating the correction value. The correction value for correcting the affect of the nonuniformity of the sensitivity distribution of the coil for use in the measurement is thus calculated based on the measurement data acquired from the both auxiliary measurements. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
