METHOD FOR DETECTING CALIBRATION DATA OF ENGIN CONTROLLING UNIT

A method for monitoring calibration data of an engine control unit is provided to prevent modification of the calibration data of the engine controlling unit after sales by stopping operation of the engine control unit when a checksum of the calibration data after the sales is different from that of the calibration data stored during production. A checksum of calibration data of an engine control unit is calculated and stored to a predetermined area during production of a vehicle(103). The checksum of the calibration data is calculated by receiving a starting/end address of the calibration data after the production(107). It is determined whether the calculated checksum of the calibration data is identical with the checksum stored in the predetermined area(109). Operation of the engine controlling unit is stopped when the checksums are different from each other(111).
