When the overall power invoked on the installations of an electricity supplier (1) by all the customers approaches the maximum electricity production or transport capacity, a situation termed saturation, this electricity supplier uses transmission means (12) to transmit an alert message (100) to the customers whose processing means (41) after receipt of this alert message send a command to disconnect non-priority appliances (42) and then when the overall power invoked on the installations of the electricity supplier reduces and moves away from saturation, the transmission means transmit an end-of-alert message (103) and the processing means of the customers after receipt of this message send a command to reconnect the appliances which had been disconnected.
