The invention relates to a protection switch comprising: an input line; an output line; at least one static switch device connecting the input line to the output line; and a control circuit connected to the static switch and to a device for measuring an electrical characteristic in the output line. The switch includes an electromechanical relay which is connected in parallel with the static switch device and provided with a moving contact conductor and two electromagnets connected to the control circuit in order to move the moving conductor between a blocking position and a conducting position in which the relay short-circuits the static switch, said relay comprising at least one permanent magnet for keeping the moving conductor in one of the positions thereof.
