<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper alloy tube for a heat exchanger having excellent softening resistance, which is durable under high operation pressure of new refrigerant such as carbon dioxide and HFC (Hydrofluorocarbon)-based Freon even if being thinned. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the copper alloy tube for the heat exchanger having a composition comprising specified amounts of Sn and P and having fine crystal grain sizes, P is solid-soluted in a fixed amount prescribed by the count number of P analyzed by secondary ion mass spectrometry into a copper alloy tube matrix, and its softening resistance as a heat transfer tube for a heat exchanger is improved even if the copper alloy tube is brazed and heated.
