PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and quickly detecting psychrophilic bacteria, especially Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus polymyxa, and Bacillus pumilus, respectively, having a possibility of growth thereof when a food is preserved at a low temperature. SOLUTION: The primer set for detecting Bacillus megaterium targets a DNA encoding a 16SrRNA and includes a forward primer composed of a specific sequence and a reverse primer composed of a specific sequence.
