A contents synchronization service method and a device therefor are provided to enable a user of a mobile communication terminal to easily receive retransmitted necessary contents, if a synchronization event, which has to synchronize contents received from a contents providing service device with an existing state by receiving the retransmitted contents, occurs. A synchronization request message is received from a mobile communication terminal(S200). Contents information provided to the mobile communication terminal is collected(S201,S202). It is confirmed whether synchronization is necessary for the terminal on the basis of the collected contents information(S203). If so, a synchronization method of the terminal is confirmed, and contents data for the synchronization method are collected(S205,S206). The collected contents data are provided to the terminal to synchronize the terminal(S207).
