An optical recording medium and an information reproducing method thereof are provided to perform super-resolution reproduction with an irradiation power of a reproducing laser beam irrespective of the size of a recording mark, by installing a super-resolution layer made of a material that generates a void under DC laser beam irradiation for 1 to 300 seconds. An optical recording medium(10) comprises a substrate(12), a recording layer(16) formed on the substrate having a recording mark of a size below a resolution limit of a reproducing optical system, and a super-resolution layer(20) made of a material generating a void by DC light irradiation of specified power for 1 to 300 seconds.
