<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an angle between an optical element and an optical path with high accuracy in a compact optical element switching device which is equipped in an optical recording and reproducing device such as an optical disk recorder and so on. <P>SOLUTION: The optical element switching device includes: the optical element (1) having a first region (8) and a second region (9), which are arranged adjacent to each other in one flat plane intersecting the optical path of the light beam, have fixed mutual positional relation, and have mutually different optical characteristics; and a rotating means (2) to rotate the optical element in the one flat plane so that the optical element is in a first state in which the intersection with the optical path in the one flat plane is in the first region, or the optical element is in a second state in which the intersection is in the second region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
