<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device for a vehicle capable of reducing a concentration of a belt load to a central part of a chest. <P>SOLUTION: The seat belt device 10 for the vehicle is provided with: a pair of right and left vertically extending shoulder belts 11, 12; an engagement body 43 for making the shoulder belts 11, 12 approach each other at the central part of the chest of a passenger and slidably engaged in a belt longitudinal direction; first belt roll-up devices 20, 21 for upwardly rolling up the shoulder belts 11, 12; joints 26, 27 connected to lower ends of the right and left shoulder belts 11, 12; a wrap belt 15; and second belt roll-up devices 22, 23 for downwardly rolling up the webbing or the wire 33 connected to the joints 26, 27 or the shoulder belts 11, 12. When the tension of a predetermined value or larger is applied by the operation of a pre-tensioner or the forward movement of the passenger at a vehicle front surface collision, the engagement body 43 is constituted so as to be extended in a left/right direction accompanying energy absorption, for example, plastic deformation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
