The method involves warming up a memory (2) i.e. combination memory, using a heat source (1) e.g. gas burner, where the memory and the heat source are provided in a heating system. Heating circuits are heated using a mixer (3). The residual heat is finally delivered from a return line (11) to the memory by a memory heat exchanger (12). A charging condition of the memory is detected at three temperature measuring points (6-8) distributed over the height of the memory. The heat source is synchronized depending on the measured values of all measuring points. An independent claim is also included for a heating system comprising a heat source.
