PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein it is difficult to deal with reproduction for longer time with the conventional data reproducing device, because fine control over access to a hard disk with the residual quantity of a battery considered is not performed to cause periodical access to the hard disk. SOLUTION: This data reproducing device is provided with: a hard disk; a first memory; a battery; and a control part including a hard disk control means for turning on the power of the hard disk before transferring data stored in the hard disk to the first memory from the hard disk and turning off the power of the hard disk after transferring the data. The control part holds the power of the hard disk in the state of OFF when the voltage of the battery is lower than a first voltage level, and afterward, reads the data stored in the first memory without reading the hard disk.
