PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily assemble a PLC into a motion control system, as an upper commanding device of a motion controller, and to make the best use of inexpensiveness, strength and easy maintainabiliy being features of the PLC. SOLUTION: This motion control system is provided with the PLC 10, the motion controller 4 and a servo driver 6, the PLC 10 issues a numeral sequence type control command as the superordinate commanding device, the motion controller 4 inputs the numeral sequence type control command from the superordinate commanding device, converts the input numeral sequence type control command into a character sequence type control command, and issues a command to the servo driver 6, according to the converted character sequence type control command, and the servo driver 6 controls a servo motor/position detector 8 for driving a mechanical device, in response to the command.
