PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal for performing incoming control by the reception interval or transmission/reception interval of electronic mail. SOLUTION: This portable terminal for controlling the incoming notification of received electronic mail is provided with a reception part for receiving electronic mail; an electronic mail recording part for recording at least the transmitter and reception time of the electronic mail received by the portable terminal; an incoming notification part for deciding whether to perform the incoming notification based on the reception interval about the electronic mail received from the same transmitter; and an incoming control instruction part for transmitting an instruction to perform predetermined incoming notification when it is decided that the incoming notification is performed as the result of decision.
