<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for creating mosaic images for coloring, which minimizes the dependency on a feeling and sense of a painter and enables anyone to draw a naturalized work of a person image or animal image having a three-dimensional effect. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A mosaic image for printing and its creation method includes: converting a person image or animal image to a monochromatic image; decreasing the number of pixels to a work size/pixel size; decreasing the number of colors to no less than 3 and no more than 9 colors; supposing the sum of the areas of three portions of a face, head and neck is 100%, replacing colors of pixels of a mosaic image, in which the percentage occupied by white colors, colors near white, and blanks is increased to no less than 30% and no more than 70%, with continuous numbers from 1 to 9 in a descending order of lightness; palely printing a design drawing including square frames of the same size, which are pixels of no less than 1.8 millimeters square and no more than 10 millimeters square, and the numbers on a sheet or the like; preparing monochromatic pencils and white-based, brown-based, and yellow-based color pencils as many as the number of colors to be used; clearly writing the number on the color pencils so that the degrees of lightness of the color pencils correspond to the degrees of lightness indicated by the numbers; and painting directly on the design drawing to complete the work.
