摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt for a continuously variable transmission capable of maintaining high torque transmission for a long period of time by surface pressure reduction following contact area enlargement of a belt and a pulley, abrasion loss reduction by the surface pressure reduction, and securement of a groove by the abrasion loss reduction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the belt V for a continuously variable transmission composed of laminated rings 3, 3 and a multiplicity of elements 4, the element 4 is formed by alternately arranging ridges 41 contacting the pulleys 1, 2 via an oil film and grooves 42 discharging lubricating oil in a pulley circumferential direction on flank surfaces 4a, 4a of both sides in a pulley radial direction, a flat ratio being a rate of a ridge width with respect to a total width of the ridge width and a groove width of the ridge 41 and the groove 42 is set at a value of a maximum ratio region of a region wherein manufacturability of a geometrical shape is satisfied and an oil discharging characteristic is satisfied. and a groove pitch being an interval between adjacent grooves 42, 42 is set at a value allowable by the set flat ratio of the region wherein the manufacturability of the geometrical shape is satisfied and the oil discharge characteristic is satisfied.
